Watch: David Byrne Lectures About Venues and Birds in TED Talk

By Ryan Dombal

TED-- which stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design-- is a nonprofit that aims to promote cool, innovative ideas with conferences and lectures from some of the brightest people on earth. In February, David Byrne did a TED talk and the 15-minute presentation is now available to watch at TED's site or below.

Byrne's topic is an intriguing one: Do we all make things with a venue or context in mind? He promotes the idea that music evolves and adapts to its surroundings in a logical way, i.e. U2 make mid-tempo rock songs because that's what sounds good in an arena. He then connects this to bird calls and voting and it somehow makes sense, which is impressive.

Brain food that tastes good and is good for you:
